NorthEnd Partners, Inc., founded in 1992 as TryonNorth Development Corporation, serves as a non-profit advocate for the improvement and redevelopment of the North Tryon Corridor. The organization’s boundaries are 10th Street to University City and include the surrounding areas along the corridor.

The Future of North End

Local businesses and community leaders working together with local government will create a conducive environment that will encourage new business and residents to move into the area.

The North Tryon future looks bright indeed with the plan for the Northeast Light Rail System. The Light Rail System will bring a flood of development into the area.

Already, lovely older homes in neighborhoods such as Lockwood are undergoing renovations in anticipation of future changes in the area.

To meet the demands of an expanding population, development in the area will include affordable apartment homes such as the Rosedale Apartment Homes (off Craighead Road), condos and single family homes.

New businesses and services will be developed to meet the needs of the area population. New businesses in the area will be designed to meet the needs of those using the light rail system as well as those permanently housed in the area.

An expanding work force will require office and retail space as well as services such as child care, shuttles for the rail system, restaurants and recreational facilities.

North Tryon is on track to be a high energy, progressive and resourceful part of Charlotte Mecklenburg.
