The North End Development Partners were founded in 1992 as The North Tryon Area Coalition, Inc. Boundaries for the organization are 11th Street to Eastway Drive and includes the surrounding areas along the corridor. The purpose of the organization is to serve as an advocate for the improvement and redevelopment of the area.

Later, the organization was known as The Tryon North Development Corporation before adopting the name of North End Partners, Inc.
